About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accountant – Fundraising & Grants is responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the Fundraising Business Unit. You will own the reconciliation of all tied and restricted funds, build a best-practice reporting suite, and provide financial analysis to support major philanthropic giving and grant acquittals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile all tied/restricted funds across revenue, expense, and capital expenditure (capex)
- Design and maintain a comprehensive suite of financial reports and reconciliations for the Fundraising & Grants Business Units
- Prepare financial business cases to support major giving and philanthropy proposals
- Manage grant acquittal reporting in compliance with donor agreements and funding conditions
- Lead month-end close processes including journals, accruals, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audit processes for all fundraising and grant-related activity
- Partner with fundraising managers to provide financial guidance and budget support
- Identify and implement process improvements across fundraising finance operations
About You:
- Bachelor's degree with CPA/CA or working towards with a minimum of three years' proven experience as an Accountant
- Experience in not-for-profit, health, or charitable sector accounting (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience with tied fund accounting
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems finance systems (e.g., Technology One, SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- A highly analytical approach to problem solving
