The Opportunity

Hotel Services Manager is a key leadership role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the end-to-end operational leadership and performance of Hotel Services at COBL.

You will lead the delivery of hospital-grade cleaning and housekeeping services, manage a cost centre including labour and consumables, and build high-performing relationships with internal stakeholders and contracted service providers (including catering and other outsourced hotel services).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in-house housekeeping and environmental services, including rostering, recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
  • Ensure hospital-grade cleaning standards aligned to infection prevention and control requirements (including NSQHS expectations)
  • Maintain and drive quality monitoring through cleaning audits, inspections and corrective actions
  • Manage the Hotel Services cost centre, including labour and consumables within budget and identifying efficiencies and value for money
  • Act as the key relationship manager for contracted services (e.g. catering, linen, waste and other nominated contractors), ensuring service standards, compliance and performance reporting
  • Support work health and safety outcomes by ensuring contractor compliance and contributing to relevant COBL committees/processes
  • Foster a safe, accountable team culture aligned with COBL values

About You

  • You have demonstrated experience leading housekeeping or environmental services teams (rostering, recruitment, training and performance)
  • You bring experience managing outsourced service contracts, monitoring KPI/service levels and holding providers to account
  • You have strong capability in cost centre or budget management (workforce efficiency, forecasting and reporting)
  • You understand infection prevention and control principles and can drive compliance to hospital-grade cleaning standards
  • You have experience supporting accreditation/compliance through audit programs and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

  • Legal right to work in Australia
  • National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements
  • Experience in acute healthcare environments with demonstrated leadership capability
  • Experience in hospital-grade cleaning / infection prevention frameworks

Desirable

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management (SIT50422) or related Healthcare business degree or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge of food safety systems and auditing (e.g. HACCP) for catering contract oversight
  • Previous hospital/healthcare environment experience
