An opportunity is available for up to 12 months leave relief for a confident and experienced nurse to undertake the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 role within the Day Therapy Unit.

The CNS2 will demonstrate expert knowledge and clinical skills in the field of oncology, haematology and model evidence-based practice. This is a full-time role based within the outpatient ambulatory setting; the RAS helps to manage the acute care needs of these patients to support them in the community care setting
The Acute Response Service (RAS), based within the Day Therapy Unit, supports the acute care needs of ambulatory medical oncology and haematology patients. The service is coordinated by a highly skilled specialist nurse who facilitates timely assessment, escalation and coordination of care. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 will work collaboratively with the Medical Oncology clinical team and Day Therapy Unit managers as a dedicated resource to support safe, responsive and patient-centred care.
Essential Criteria
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with a minimum of five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in acute oncology, haematology or emergency acute care.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in a health discipline.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm and commitment to professional practice.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to achieving excellence in quality and safety through continuous improvement.
