Radiation Therapist Level 2 – Full Time - Permanent
- 70 hour fortnight, with flexibility to choose a 4 day week (8:45 shift) or 9 day fortnight (7:47 shift)
- Higher pay rate compared to NSW Health with an additional Level 2 Year 6 pay level

The Radiation Oncology Department at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is among the most active and advanced centres in New South Wales, renowned for its comprehensive and patient-centred approach to cancer care. As part of a fully integrated cancer treatment facility, the department collaborates closely with medical, surgical, and allied health teams to deliver personalised, multidisciplinary care .
We are seeking organised and motivated Radiation Therapists. The successful candidate must be competent to perform tasks as an accredited practitioner in simulation, planning, treatment, quality assurance & quality control in Radiation Therapy procedures. The department employs a diverse array of state-of-the-art radiotherapy modalities, including SBRT, SRS and brachytherapy. In alignment with contemporary best practices, the department has integrated Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) into its clinical workflows for set up and motion management. Recognising the importance of efficiency and consistency, the department has automated several aspects of its treatment planning and quality assurance processes, allowing staff to focus on the complexities of patient’s plans and treatments.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified to practise Radiation Therapy, current registration as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and holds (or eligible to hold) a radiation license with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) to use ionizing radiation apparatus for radiation therapy purposes. Graduates are to demonstrate they will be eligible for the above requirements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of exceptional patient care and the delivery of high quality radiation therapy services, with an understanding of Quality Assurance and radiation safety principles and practices.
- Demonstrated technical competence in all areas of Radiation Therapy (Simulation Planning and Treatment)
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in small teams, self-motivated with initiative and able to cope with dynamic and changing work practices including flexibility in work hours.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with Good communication and interpersonal skills both spoken and written.
- Evidence of immunisations to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy for a Category A position
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of current trends and developments in radiation therapy techniques and technology.
