Located in Camperdown, with excellent access to public transport, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is a Not for Profit, world-class cancer hospital integrating treatment, research, education, and emotional support under one roof. With 149 inpatient beds, 12 operating theatres, 22 ICU-level beds, day therapy and radiotherapy services, we offer advanced technologies in a purpose-built facility designed to support patients and staff alike.
The Opportunity
Our anaesthetic nursing service supports 10 operating theatres, an Interventional Suite and a procedure room that performs a wide range of surgical specialties. Our specialities include thoracic, Head and Neck, ENT, Upper GI, Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, Breast and Plastics. The anaesthetic nurse is essential to the provision of highly skilled care for our patients before and during anaesthesia. Highly developed practical skills, a patient centred approach to care and the ability to work as an effective member of the team will see you excel in this role.

About You
You are a compassionate and proactive Peri-operative nurse. You’re ready to collaborate with surgeons, educators, specialist nurses and your nurse unit manager to drive excellent patient outcomes and contribute to the growth of this important service assisting with a variety of complex cases. If you are looking to challenge yourself, expand your knowledge or increase your expertise in Anaesthetics we would welcome your application.
Essential Requirements
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Legal right to work in Australia
- Minimum 2 years’ full time equivalent post registration experience
- Demonstrated current professional knowledge and expertise in Anaesthetics
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain)
- Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements
