About the role:

The Research Scientist – Biomedical Innovation position is within the Arto Hardy Family Biomedical Innovation Hub (BMIH) at the COBLH.

The Research Scientist will embed their research expertise into the BMIH, manage research projects within timelines and budget, and ensure compliance with quality and reporting requirements, including regularly publishing research results in high quality outlets as lead author and in collaboration with other researchers.

Essential Criteria:

  • PhD in biomedical engineering or other field relevant to the position
  • Doctoral and/or post-doctoral experience with and knowledge of 3D cell culture, techniques relating to molecular and cellular biology, production and characterisation (e.g., rheology) of bio-materials.
  • Experience in advanced imaging (including wide-field fluorescence and confocal microscopy).
  • Demonstrated track record of publishing research in peer reviewed journals and conference papers.
  • Demonstrated experiencing working in a PC2 laboratory/facility; knowledge of ethics protocols and WHS regulations and procedures.

Desirable Criteria:

-    Doctoral and/or post-doctoral experience with 3D bioprinting
