The Opportunity
The Assistant in Nursing role will provide support to the nursing team, both Enrolled and Registered, in the delivery of nursing care in a surgical environment. They will be directed tasks and monitored by the Registered Nurse. The incumbent will retain responsibility for their own actions and remain accountable to the Registered Nurse for all allocated functions. The tasks an Assistant in Nursing will undertake include greeting patients, handling and positioning of patients, gathering/restocking of equipment, bed cleaning/making, assisting in toileting, vital signs and ECGs.

Essential Requirements
- Completed Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assistant in Nursing) or equivalent health related experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team environment
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Evidence of immunisations to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious diseases Policy for a Category A position
- Valid police check <6 months old or willingness to obtain
- Australian working rights (no sponsorship is offered for this position)
