Your role as the Breast Surgical Fellow for 2026 will be to provide clinical, educational and research support for the Department of Breast Surgery at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical
- Assisting in Operating Theatres
- Attend and participate in the breast oncology clinics
- Conduct and attend weekly multidisciplinary Meetings
- Ward Duties
- Participate in Audit
- Participate in weekend rounds and on-call duties
Education
- Participate and assist in education sessions
- Supervise and teach medical students
- Attend and present at MDT and associated meetings
Research
- Participate in clinical research
- Conference presentations
Essential Selection Criteria
- Desire future career in breast oncology
- Current AHPRA registration or eligible for registration
- Recently completed or will imminently complete a Surgical Training Program and be awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (or equivalent).
- Advanced knowledge and skills in breast oncology, including good surgical skills commensurate with level of training and ability to undertake some breast cancer surgery without close supervision.
- Evidence of immunisations to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy for a Category A position.
