 About the role

 The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day management of security tools, processes, and controls, respond to security events, and contribute to ongoing uplift projects that enhance the organisation’s cyber resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cyber security tools and platforms, including email security, endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability management systems.
• Respond to, investigate, and resolve cyber security alerts and events.
• Perform vulnerability scanning, coordinate remediation activities, and track closure.
• Support identity and access management across a hybrid environment (Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID), including conditional access and application integrations.
• Assist with firewall and application control configuration to support security objectives.
• Maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and records of security activities.
• Contribute to vendor risk assessments and security improvement initiatives.
• Support the organisation’s progress against recognised frameworks such as the ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF.

Skills and experience

Essential:

• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and email security platforms.
• Practical knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID.
• Understanding of recognised cyber security frameworks (ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
• Experience in vulnerability management and incident response.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document processes effectively.
• Min 2 COVID doses + current seasonal influenza vaccination

 Desirable:

• Exposure to cloud security in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Experience automating workflows in cyber security platforms
