Chris O'Brien Lifehouse (COBL) is an independent not for profit private hospital situated in central Sydney, where our Peri-Operative Suite is integral to the advanced oncological surgical services available to our patients.
COBL people foster a culture of expertise, learning, technology and research where patients are at the heart of everything we do. Our peri-operative team is integral to this, and they rely on leadership and support from an exceptional peri-operative clinician with experience and insight into the challenges and future development of peri-operative nursing.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced peri-operative manager with a strong background in leadership to lead our team as we continue growth with advanced operative technologies, digital transformation and clinical skills advancement.
About the Role
This leadership position works closely with the Director of Clinical Operations, CEO and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with ACORN standards, business development and growth and efficiency of the department. The position has 9 direct line reports. Advanced surgical & Robotic services include Head and Neck, Neurosurgery, Upper GI, Colorectal, Gynae -Oncology, Thoracic & Urology. A highly skilled team of staff has been established to support these services in each speciality.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Working rights in Australia & Current APHRA registration
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in peri-operative practice
- Post graduate qualification in an appropriate speciality
- Peri-operative leadership role in the private sector
- Leadership & Management qualifications (or plans to complete)
- Excellent communication skills and proven record of leadership of teams
- National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements
