Full-time Hospital Pharmacy Technician

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the procurement, storage, distribution, and dispensing of all medicines and consumables including those used in the preparation of chemotherapy.
  2. Manage the procurement and supply of medicines to wards and departments.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient dispensing records.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  6. Provide support to patients and their families.

 

Essential

  • Can work full-time.
  • Previous pharmacy experience (Certificate III or IV) or a strong science-based background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all members of the health care team, patients and carers, contractors and vendors.
  • An appreciation of the principles of medication safety.

 

Desired

  • Experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Experience using Merlin dispense system
  • Previous experience in an oncology-related environment.
  • An understanding of the delivery of cancer care.
