Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse
Opportunity for a vibrant, enthusiastic, and confident nurse to step into the Clinical Nurse Specialist role for Prostate
The CNS2 will be working under the PCFA survivorship model of care including case coordination & supportive care in the medical oncology & radiation oncology field. This is a full-time funded position form the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Working will be from clinical offices based onsite at COBL
The role of the PCSN is to provide specialised evidence-based care and support for
men with prostate cancer, and their families, including targeted education; expert
assistance navigating the health care system; symptom and side-effect assessment
and management; and long-term survivorship care, with a strong focus on personal
agency, health promotion and wellbeing.
The Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse will work with the collegiate support of other specialist nurses in tumour streams at Lifehouse and have the capacity to drive specialist program development, interdisciplinary collaborations and networks across the health sectors
The Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse will support and promote the work of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and assist in the development of prostate cancer specific co-ordinated and evidenced based, seamless, patient centred care.
Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Association (AHPRA)
- Minimum 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience
- Post graduate qualification in oncology or similar
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary context
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Proven leadership qualities
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of participation in and commitment to quality improvement and best practice principles.
