About the role

We have a permanent role available for a Senior Level 2 Support Engineer to join our organisation on the service desk. The position will be doing Infrastructure, Desktop and Clinical Application support for our internal customers from our office in Camperdown. This is an onsite role. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic, reliable and be willing to work. Customer service is paramount, so strong communications skills are a must.

The work will include answering service calls, managing and resolving escalated issues and tickets where appropriate, office and application support at level 2. The role includes administrative support of application and systems. You will learn how to support our clinical application Meditech (Electronic Medical Record) for internal users and clinicians. You will also be required to do hardware support such as imaging, troubleshooting, upgrading, building of desktop SOEs etc.

You will be involved with:

  1. A small help desk engineering team, that take support calls as well as deliver support and solutions to technical cases
  2. Device support including Printers, windows computers, IGEL terminals, systems (medical), Nurse-call devices connecting to technology, PA equipment, Citrix level 2 support, networking and server support etc
  3. Answering of service desk calls and take escalation from level 1 support technicians and assisting people with technical issues
  4. This will be an Onsite role with 5 days in the office; there will be lots of opportunity to learn and grow your technical skills.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Level 2 IT Support role
  • Experience within clinical/hospital environment advantageous 
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and fast paced learner
  • Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server 2016/19/22, AWS Cloud environment, Citrix Virtual desktop and application
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Entra AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, basic networking
  • MS-Office, Office 365 suite, Teams and the standard desktop applications
  • Mimecast and Commvault backups
  • NCentral, CrowdStrike, strong enterprise printing knowledge
  • IP Telephony and Teams
  • Software/Application implementation, configuration, upgrades and troubleshooting
  • Min 2 COVID doses + current seasonal influenza vaccination
