The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Oncology Physiotherapist to join the inpatient Physiotherapy Team at our world-class facility. This is a full-time, permanent role, working in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Team Leader to plan, deliver and evaluate a high-quality inpatient service—through leadership, service development and education.
The Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for providing high-quality services across ICU/HDU, surgical and medical wards, as well as palliative care. The role demands advanced clinical practice skills in the management of complex patients across a broad spectrum of inpatient care. The role includes service development and evaluation, and the ability to provide supervision, teaching and training within the physiotherapy team. The role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Criteria
- Must hold a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, with current AHPRA registration
- At least 4 years’ postgraduate experience in an acute hospital and/or oncological setting
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and significant clinical experience in the provision of physiotherapy, including intensive care, acute medical and surgical, and/or oncology-specific physiotherapy
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes focused on patient/client outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff and students
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
