Located in Camperdown, with excellent access to public transport, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is a Not for Profit, world-class cancer hospital integrating treatment, research, education, and emotional support under one roof. With 149 inpatient beds, 12 operating theatres, 22 ICU-level beds, day therapy and radiotherapy services, we offer advanced technologies in a purpose-built facility designed to support patients and staff alike.

 About the role

  • Responsible for all administrative tasks for the medical oncology/palliative care ward
  • Manage incoming calls to the ward
  • Entry of patient admission and discharge data to the Patient Administration System
  • Management of patient files on the ward
  • Work with stakeholders from across the organisation
  • Provide excellent support and service to our patients their carers

 

Skills and experience

  • Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent and/or
    Minimum 2-3 years medical administration and high level customer service experience in an office environment or similar
  • Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel), with accurate data entry skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills with the ability to work on patient administration systems and/or electronic record systems
  • High level interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in cancer services (desirable)
  • Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements
